The Traveler

A Lifetime

bw Frampton
I traveled back in time last night
to watch the boy that once was me.
Caught dead between a child and a man,
at seventeen.
In my hands, I held nine planets and a sun.
The key to life was merely out of reach.
After eighteen years I still hear him
screaming now and then; wondering
where I took him
a life time from then.

I traveled back in time this morning
to a moment not so long ago.
Stuck between fatherhood and fighting
for my pride.
Perhaps my rage will rest
before my children grow
or, maybe vindication will find me at last
and that boy trapped inside
need never see what I've become
in a lifetime.

I travel back in time quite often...

Good job! I think we all travel back in time sometimes.. all made us who we are now and gives us directions to go. Keep up the good work!!

"I travel back in time quite often..."...me too, perhaps because I perceive the past to have had more promise than the present...I hold hope, though, and believe there is still time.
