The Tree Beside the Lake

The tree beside the lake, reminds me,
of the various ways and moods of young women.

one branch wanted to see its reflection
in the clear waters, decorated itself
with various hues of blue blossoms.

one branch bent even deeper touching,
splashing and bathing in the cool waters,
emerging fresh clean and beautiful.

One stem diverged towards the sky
as though calling the fluffy clouds to rain,
and pour water for her to drench

One delicate twig with lots of dainty buds,
waved to the different little birds to perch,
So she can listen to their singing and chirping

One strong stem went down to give shade
to the tired passers by and give them
the fruit to eat and fulfill their hunger.
