The Tree of Knowledge

As Written by My Wonderful Wife Luchrisa

One day, I received a chance; an opportunity to prove I had what it took to do something I really loved. I was a small fish in a large pond, and I knew it wouldn't be easy! It would have twist and turns, and would test me to my breaking point. It would question me; what have I gotten myself into? What did I think I was doing? Did I really want it that badly? Could I rise to the occasion?

Then one day, a great storm came; the thunder and lightning were fierce. One of the small trees of the many planted in the parking lot fell right in front of my car. I felt sorry for that little tree. "Poor thing", I thought. "It won't ever amount to much." As the days went on, it began to change my mind. The tree began to bounce back with grand results.

You see, the other trees were straight, yet scraggly and lean, but my little tree began to take off with great stride. It was shorter, yet soon became fuller and more beautiful than any other. I began to learn such a great lesson, and it showed me so much about my current situation. I could be that little tree; fallen and broken at times, but NEVER down and out!

That little tree showed me that I could achieve my hopes and dreams, and that I could make them happen. Sure, at times, there could and would be setbacks, but I never let anything get in my way again!
