The Trees

Pauline Abreu
The trees sway when the wind blows
How long will they stay? Nobody knows
They stand proud, glad to be alive
Do they know they are lucky to survive?

Animals love them, some call them home
The weather is unpredictable, the storms will come
We can't help what is natural, the rain and the sun
The trees are alive, getting chopped down can't be much fun

Do trees cry? It does make me wonder
They are alive through the rain and the thunder
Trees provide protection and are a figure of beauty
Keeping them alive, that should be our duty

For every tree chopped down, one should be planted
Think of the good this will do, and my wish will be granted
Trees are special they should be protected
Otherwise, all the animals will be rejected

Loverly. "I think that I shall never see, a thing so lovely as a tree."
