The True MVP of the Republican Party - Barack Obama

Jacob Horn
A few weeks ago I did a blog regarding all the false hope surrounding the presidency of Barack Obama. The thing I did not realize when I wrote that blog is that I was entirely wrong. Obama has brought a lot of hope and even change, to the Republican party.

Before his presidency, the Republican party was in shambles. We had no true leader. None of the base was very energized. We were not sure what our goals were or even what platforms we stood on. Obama changed all of that. Because of Barack Obama the Republican party and its conservative base is as energized as ever before. Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts was not only a referendum on health care but also on Obama and the Democratic party itself. Obama pushed to hard, to fast and I will not be surprised to see many Democrats jump ship over the next months.

Withouth Barack Obama there is no way Scott Brown wins in Massachusetts. Not only did he win in a traditionally blue state, not only did he win Ted Kennedy's former seat, he won the seat of one the biggest health care advocates our nation had ever seen at a time when that seat meant everything to the passage of the Democrats health care plan. The Republicans never could have pulled off something like this without Obama.

See, here is what Obama has truly done. I have always wondered how gay rights and abortion advocates got so much accomplished. I was told because they were louder than everybody else and they never stopped yelling. For the most part, the true conservatives in this country have never yelled very loud. True conservatives are the people you see doing all the hard work in the background. They are the people who don't complain. They simply go about their business and do what needs to be done. Obama got that group of people fired up. Democrats had no idea how to handle the Tea Party Movement and other conservatives who decided to voice their opinion, quite loudly, for the first time.

Just like Nate Kaeding is the Jets MVP and Adrian Peterson is the Saints MVP, Barack Obama is the real MVP of the Republican party. Who wants to bet he does not show up to this awards ceremony.
