Smokers need to wise up and pay attention to what is going on with cigarettes. The amount of chemicals and additives in cigarettes is terribly high. Chemicals are added to make the tobacco more addicting, even though they have been increasing the nicotine on a regular basis. Some chemicals are added to help your body adjust to the added chemicals, and some additives help the tobacco burn slower. Many more poisonous chemicals are manufactured during the burning of the tobacco. Now they have even added a chemical to make the cigarette go out if it sits without being puffed on.

There are over 4000 chemicals found in tobacco from the time it is grown through the final processing of the product when it is smoked. An awful lot of these chemicals are pure poison. Every cigarette that is smoked has all these burning chemicals inhaled deep into your lungs. These chemicals are not harmless at all, and are actually very poisonous to the human body. Many of these chemicals help add to the addictive qualities of tobacco.

You may have noticed the aged looks on folk's faces that are heavy smokers. This come from all the poisons in tobacco destroying the body's natural vitamin balance and blood flow. Smoking inhibits small capillary functions as well as in the major arteries and blood veins. Circulation is decreased dramatically, so vision and hearing are affected. Smokers are also more prone to common illnesses such as colds and the flu.
The effects of cigarette smoke in the human body are quite bad, and here are just a few examples of how your body is affected by the nicotine reduced circulation.

Pale complexion, wrinkles, with overall dryer skin
Unhealthy hair and nails, with slowed growth.
Decreases a healthy appetite and reduces motivational levels
Dehydrates your body fluids
Decreased sex drive
Impaired immune system
Stressed heart
Vision and hearing weakened
Slowed mental alertness

These chemicals are known for uses such as fungicides and pesticides and are also known for many serious side effects. They are common to many types of cancers as well as leukemia, birth defects, lung infections, emphysema and prostrate cancer. These ailments are all associated with this group of poisons. The chemicals are normally used in such things as rat poison, hairspray, fungicides, pesticides and a slew of other not very nice products.

This is just a reminder article for non-smokers, or those that may need a push to quit smoking. Good health always starts with what you put into your body, and cigarette smoke sure goes against all of our common sense in such matters.
