Does God Want Modern Circumcision
Over a decade later, I still remember how my son looked when I saw him afterwards. His eyes, previously peaceful and dreamy, now was wet and wild with terror. I didn't understand it. I was told that the baby didn't really feel much pain during the circumcision. I was told the pain that was felt would be instantly forgotten a couple moments after the surgery was done. I was told a lot of things by nurses and family except the things that I had needed to know.
Without resistance, thousands of parents for several decades followed what medical authority recommended. However, there might have been considerable less parents choice circumcision if the facts were made public knowledge:
Circumcision was not a necessary surgery to keep boys healthy.
Circumcision did inflict major pain on the baby.
Sometimes anesthesia is not used, and when it is used the medicine does not provide enough relief or can cause death.
The newborn baby will very likely tremble, wail, vomit and hold his breathe from the surgery.
Due to these terrible truths, many mothers are now suffering guilt over what they allowed to be done to their sons. Unfortunately, there is another truth that many don't realize. The truth about circumcision within Christianity.
Circumcision in the beginning was not the removal of the foreskin, but a cut of the foreskin. The modern circumcision was integrated into society as a cure for masturbation.
Jewish circumcision started about 2,000 years before Jesus came. This was so the people would understand the purpose of the Old Covenant before the New Covenant came into being. When Jesus came, he was circumcised and it was the beginning of his sacrifice.
After Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant, the New Covenant became the law for Christians. The time of Jewish circumcision and animal sacrifices was ended. Circumcision of a male child born in the New Covenant is blasphemous and macabre torture.
There is many passages in the Bible that explains God's stance on circumcision. The following is the most relevant to today's society.
Colossians 2: 8-11 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after the Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Rom. 3:29-30 Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles, also? Yes, of Gentiles also. Since the God who will justify those of the circumcision out of faith, and those of the uncircumcision through faith, is One.
Gal. 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us.
Matt.9:13 I desire mercy and not sacrifice.
God abhorred the ancient circumcision but used it as a tool, and he most assuredly abhors the mutilation of modern circumcision.
There is nothing that parents who have chosen to circumcise in the past can do now. That is, except tell others about the grisly details of circumcision and broadcast the truth about God's position on circumcision. Circumcision is a heinous act, and not to circumcise is a religious one.

Post a CommentGenital Mutilation is an unforgivable act of torture and robbery. It's ridiculous how the Christians agree that Female Genital Mutilation is despicable yet they somehow completely ignore the fact taht they do basically the same thing to boys.
Originally Christianity hated sex and pleasure. Yet you hipocritical christians say "oh but the woman can't enjoy sex when she's circumcised yet the male can"
It doesn't matter at all. You're damaging the sex organs and reducing the capacity for a very enjoyable sex life. All forms of genital cutting should only ever be performed on a willing participant. Not a newborn infant.
Only the Religious have this amazing capacity for Evil. And then so brazenly excuse it as "religious tradition"
I don't understand how people can say that people shouldn't judge circumcision because it's a private decision. It *should* be a personal decision- but for the owner of the penis, not his parents. Whether you think the NT is against circumcision or neutral, I don't see how a person can argue that parents have a right to cut off a healthy, functioning part of an unconsenting infant's body for no immediate medical reason. We're not allowed to cut off their earlobes... or pin-prick a baby girl's genitals... yet this is OK.
If you leave your kid's foreskin alone and don't EVER retract to clean, you won't run into problems that will lead to him "having to have it done" later- that's a common misconception, and nearly all problems that lead to "medically necessary" circumcision are caused by uninformed doctors giving bad advice (and could be treated with less invasive methods).

It amazes me that the nation with the highest STD rate in the West argues that circumcision prevents STD... I'm a British Christian mother and don't know any babies who were done at birth who were not Jewish or Muslim. How come you have a higher STD rate than us?

Europeans are traditionally Catholic/Christian. They do not circumcise. Never did.
This is an old article but I found it so I am sure others will to when researching this issue... It comes down to what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7: 19 "Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts."

TRUTH: NO medical society in the entire world, including the USA, recommends routine infant circumcision. Circumcision does NOT:

None of those passages explained God's stance against circumcision. They had the word circumcision in them, that is all. The author was comparing belief in Jesus is similar to circumcision in that both cutting away things. Circumsion cuts away skin and circumcision through Christ cuts away your past sins of the flesh. That's it. It does not say that circumcision is wrong to God. A better passage would be the one that compares the body to a temple.
I see only good reason to circumcise: to help prevent sexually transmitted diseases including HIV. A large US study published in December of 2008 showed a 50% reduction in the transmission of HIV in circumcised males compared to uncircumsized males. That was enough for me, I circumcised my newborn the following month. If God doesn't like it that is his problem!!
No one ever wants to hear that they mutilated their sons. However, if people really truly care about educating themselves, and not just following the popular culture in our country, they would do their homework on this topic. Routine infant circumcision is not necessary. 80% of the world's men are intact. Muslims and Jews circumcise for religious beliefs. The only other group that circumcises in large numbers is Americans. And for most Americans, there is no religious reason. It's simply cultural. And considering as many as 40% of male babies being born today are being left intact, this culture is changing and changing rapidly. Hopefully more and more people see the light.

barbaric? Judgment should not be passed by anyone for anything such as this. This could almost be construed as an attack on one's beliefs. How dare anyone attack such a thing regardless of point of view. One's religion or beliefs are a foundation on which they build their lives.
