It is not the easiest thing to do
Sometimes goodbyes are not our choice
But we find the strength to muddle through
In all goodbyes, we find a lesson
One that will teach us to move on and survive
The most important lesson is always forgiveness
For without it, we stay dormant and cannot thrive
Goodbyes are hurtful, there is no doubt
But revenge won't ease that pain
It's true, getting even may give us a temporary boost
But in the end, the hurt returns and we have made no gain
Ignore the temptation to avenge your pride
Instead, allow forgiveness to enter your soul
The bitterness of a goodbye will fade away
And your broken heart will once again be whole

Post a CommentVery nicely written! Great job!
I never got to say "goodbye" to my Dad - he just "dropped dead". But I showed him every day how much I cared about him and have never forgotten the good times we had and his great love for his family. However, the other type of "goodbye" has never been easy for me. I wish I had read something like this when I was very young. Still, it's never too late to learn!
Goodbyes can be hurtful but they sometimes are important for letting our ill feelings go. Great job, Donna.
very true hon, let the bitterness go away
