The Truth About Work from Home Data Entry and Typing Jobs

Erika V. Cox
There are so many people wanting to work from home, and seemingly, even more who want to do data entry work from home. Unfortunately, the brutal truth is that there are very few legitimate data entry and typing work from home jobs - and I mean legitimate. There are so many scam artists out there offering so-called home data entry and typing jobs that it is downright disgusting. Let me share this with you before I go any further.

There are absolutely NO data entry or clerical work from home jobs where you will make $1000 or more a week part-time or even full-time. Just ask yourself do you know of anyone that does data entry or clerical work and makes as much as a special skilled or college educated career would bring. And in most instances I'm talking about graduate degrees. I have done data entry on and off for many years, and I have yet to even be able to make $500 a week full-time doing data entry or clerical work at home or onsite and I can key over 14,000 ksph, which, if you don't know, is very fast. Typing jobs are pretty much the same, although you can make a little more money if you type very fast, you will not make $1000 a week part or full-time.

I have worked from home since 1999 and have come across very few legitimate work from home data entry and typing jobs. Most of the legitimate work from home data entry and typing jobs are locally-based. So, your best bet is to look under the data entry, data processing, and clerical sections of your yellow pages and call each business. Ask them if they are hiring, or currently hiring, home keyers and typists, if they do, many will have an extremely long waiting list. This is how I found a couple of my home data entry jobs, I just let my fingers do the walking.

Now after giving you the discouraging news, here is some good news. There are a number of data entry, clerical, and typing opportunities with bidding sites like Guru.com, which is where people can bid on projects. The winner gets the job. Some jobs are long-term and some are not. A couple of problems with these bidding sites are that they are very popular and the competition is fierce. Also, payment can be tricky. Unfortunately, there have been a number of people that have never been paid for work completed. There is really nothing you can do other then threaten with lawsuits but that doesn't usually put your money in your pocket.

There are a few legitimate companies that hire home data entry keyers and typists. I will list at least a couple of very good companies in my upcoming ebook that will provide valuable information about legitimate companies that hire home data entry workers and typists. My ebook will not be a just a list of work at home jobs, it will be a complete guide in helping someone find work from home based on my seven years of experience working from home.

I also have tried for surveys but none of my effort ever bore fruit. I once had participated in PTC programme of the site "Maystromails.net" and wasted one pretty year to reach my earnings to the lowest paid level. Now it isone year, I have been demanding earnings but the site does not reply. Similar seems the position with Data Entry Jobs where I want to try my hand, but am afraid I may find some legitimate company or not. I have already burnt my hands in order to earn money on line. You have rightfully warned about the trap of Surveys. Thank you
