Don't want a fairytale
I am addicted to the truth
I do not like anything sugarcoated
However, I will not be disrespectful just for a point I am trying to prove
For heaven only knows how much of my own character I need to improve
Behind closed doors the person in the mirror surrenders to the impact of past wounds
No longer can I deny that words hurt knowing my soul feels colder with each blow
Eventually, I will let it all go but for now it is painful, what reality shows
However, I still do not want a fairytale
I am still addicted to the truth
I still do not like anything sugarcoated
However, I accept that I cannot expect everyone to always speak and wear the truth

Post a CommentI am also addicted to the truth, however, not so much when it comes to things about myself. Great poem; thanks.

The truth can be a hard but potentially life (if not soul) -saving pill to swallow!
