The Tudors: Why It's My Favorite TV Show!

ROCCO
My favorite TV Show is The Tudors. This is a ten-part Television series which is commissioned by Showtime and Peachart Entertainment in production with Reveille LLC. The lead role is played by Jonathan Rhys Myers who was originally born in Ireland, was expelled from school at the age of 16 and generally hung around pool halls. Since his early days Rhys Myers has started in Television series including Gormenghast (2000), Elvis Presley (2005) which earned him an Emmy nomination. In 2005, Rhys Myers starred in Woody Allen's film Match Point and his career has come a long way from snooker halls back in Ireland during his teens.

In The Tudors, Rhys Myers leads the cast and portrays a young Henry VIII who was King of England from 28th June 1491 until 28th January 1547. Henry VIII was the second monarch of the House of Tudor and he became very famous for having married six times. His wives were beheaded, locked away and treated like second-class citizens so that King Henry could remarry. He introduced Protestanism and brought about the dissolution of the monastaries. Henry VIII was probably one of the most influential Kings of all times in England.

Johnathan Rhys Myers found himself typecase as a weak junkie in 2004. In order to get away from his typecase image Rhys Myers began a fitness and buffing regime so that he could apply for more masculine roles. He ended up gaining and retaining 25 extra pounds of muscle and it is rumored that he went for the part of James Bond. He also has several modeling campaigns and was the face of Versace Men's Collection of Fall/Winter 2006. Another attribute is that he can actually sing as he shows his fans in Velvet Goldmine, where he sang most of the songs as he played the part of rock star Brian Slade. Fame has taken its toll on Rhys Myers and he did a stint in Rehab in 2007.

The Tudors allows Rhys Myers to play the role of King Henry VIII and show his audience that he is a multi-talented actor. He plays the role with great power and the show focuses on the tumultious early years of his 40 year reign. Not only is this show really well presented, historially accurate it also give people who were never interested in history as youngsters to see the power behind the English throne during Henry VIII reign. The first season of The Tudors, which began airing on April 1st, shows the King in power before his separation from the Roman Catholic Church. The main highlight of this series is the King's troubled marriage to Queen Catherine of Aragon as well as hix extra maritial conquests.

This show is brilliantly made and the star casting machine got it right. It has become so popular that they are now planning a second series with another 10 episodes of this historial drama being filmed. Co-actors/actresses include the amazine Natalie Dormer who plays Anne Boleyn and she adds a classy and elegant chic to this already magnificent drama. Gabrielle Anwar plays the role of Princess Margaret Tudor, the older sister of Henry VIII, and is a truly classical actress.

The entire cast was expertly put together and The Tudors include great actors such as Sam Neill, Jeremy Northam, Callum Blue, Henry Cavill, James Frain, Henry Czerny, James Frain, Nick Dunning and Chris Holden-Reid. The awesome actresses also include Maria Doyle-Kennedy, who plays Henry VIII first wife and her impact on the screen is magical. Overall, this program is highly well star cast, the setting and the costumes are perfect and the acting is second to none.

but why is it your favorite show? that IS the title of this article right? Yet nowhere in the text do you cite any reason for liking it. in fact there seems to be no opinion expressed at all. For that matter, you say nothing about the show at all, beyond "Rhys Myers leads the cast and portrays a young Henry VIII" instead you list a lot of terribly boring facts about "Rhys Myers" this article is woefully misslabelled, and instead should be titled, "some stuff i know about my favourite actor" . Of who i would note that you also show no opinion whatsoever. and frankly it looks like the whole thing was lifted from someone else's biography of rhys myers (or meyers or whatever-i've never heard of the guy myself) is this some sort of failed school project? (at least i hope they failed you-since you obviously did not fulfill the goal; describing WHY you LIKE a certain TV show)
