The Twilight Series Through the Eyes of an Adult

I'm a 22 year old mother of a beautiful 4 year old daughter. Back when I was younger I would love reading series such as The Baby Sitters Club. I got so wrapped up in their lives that I read every single one published. So, needless to say, when I heard about Twilight, I thought to myself, "How on Earth could someone get so excited over a book about Vampires?" Boy, was I wrong.

From the moment I picked up Twilight, it was hard for me to put it down. The main character, Bella is so plain, that in lots of ways, she reminds me of myself at times. Edward Cullen, who the book is mainly about, is the man any woman would want. Except for the fact that he's a Vampire. Which in his case, doesn't even matter. I fell so in love with Edward, that I caught myself wishing that my very own fiance were a Vampire. There's something about the way Edward is so in love with Bella that it just draws you to him and it makes you wish you had a boyfriend that fought so hard not to suck on your neck and drink your blood. The love shown between Bella and Edward in the first series of Twilight is so unstoppable and unconditional. That's why when I read the second book to the series, New Moon, I was almost heartbroken.

It pretty much starts off with Edward leaving Bella because he thinks that she deserves a better life. One with out Vampires chasing after her heavenly scent. Well, I was mad and very hurt that this happened to poor Bella and it crushed her world to, so that made me suspenseful and I had to finish reading New Moon. And so I read all the way to the part to where Edward came back into her life and promised to never leave her again. I told myself I was through with Twilight and everything associated to it. Well, it wasn't long until I was searching the Internet for the cheapest copy of the third book, Eclipse.

I didn't find Eclipse very interesting. In fact, at times I would stop reading it and vow never to pick it up again. Within time, I was right back at it, racing to finish the book to see what exciting would happen. Bella and Edward were still very much in love but by this time, Bella found out that her best friend Jacob was a Werewolf. Jacob and Edward hated each other and it seems that Jacob was always fighting and trying to win Bella's love. Bella, only thinking of Jacob as a brother, knew that she only wanted Edward. Eclipse was one of the larger books of the series and I didn't like it too much. It seemed to just drag on and on and nothing important seemed to really happen.

Breaking Dawn is the last book in the series, and by far, the best. Edward and Bella marry. Jacob finally comes to terms with Bella being with a Vampire, and believe it or not, Bella becomes pregnant. Not pregnant in the way a human would become though, because she is carrying a baby that is half Vampire and half human. It grows at a very fast pace and I believe her whole pregnancy term was around two to three weeks. Edward must turn Bella into a Vampire to keep her alive while she was giving birth. So many great things happen in Breaking Dawn that it is worth reading the first three to get to that last of the series. I don't believe I've ever gotten so wrapped up in a book ever in my life. I could have read all four in less than a week and I would have, if it hadn't taken me so long to get my hands on some of the books. So from my point of view, I loved the Twilight series and would recommend it to anyone. I don't think that it's mainly for the younger crowd like most people do, because I to fell in love with Edward Cullen and would love it if my fiance sparkled in the sunshine.
