The Ultimate Guide to 2010 Awards Shows

As 2009 draws to a close, we look back on the shocking, daring, and hilarious moments witnessed on national awards shows and begin to wonder what's going to happen next year. If you're like everyone else and love watching awards show, this is your ultimate guide!

The 36th Annual People's Choice Awards

The 2010 round of awards shows will be kicked off by the People's Choice Awards airing January 6 on CBS. The show will run from 9 pm to 11 pm ET/PT and will, of course, be hosted by the lovely Queen Latifah. Fans can vote for their favorite in each of 31 categories both on the People's Choice website and at MySpace where fans can post videos and discuss their favorite celebs, movies, and music.

The Golden Globes

The countdown to the Golden Globes has begun. The show will be held at Beverly Hill Hilton in Beverly Hills, California and will air live on NBC at 5 pm PST and 8 pm ET. Hosted by Ricky Gervais, the 67th Golden Globes will be held on January 17, 2010. The rules have been amended for Best Animated Feature, expanding the nominations to 5. The Screen Actors Guild Awards

The 16th Annual SAG Awards will air on January 23, 2009 and can be viewed on both TNT and TBS at 8 pm ET/PT, 7 pm Central and 6 pm MT. The SAGs were originally scheduled to air on January 31, but gracefully moved the date to accommodate other awards shows airing the same evening. The Screen Actors Guild Awards, held at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, are chosen by actors for actors. The Guild has been in existence since 1933, working to ensure the rights of performers and taking their place in the history of the American labor movement. The Screen Actors Guild Awards first aired in 1995 and has been a beacon of grace, style, and genuine warmth since its inception. Tune in on January 23 to see who has received the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award!

The Grammys

The Grammys will be returning to The Staples Center on January 31, 2010. Airing on CBS at 8 pm, fans can follow the show on both Facebook and Twitter. Festivities kick off on December 2, 2009 with the "Grammy Nominations Live!" concert airing on CBS beginning at 9 pm. LL Cool J will host the show, which boasts 14 performers including Nick Jonas & The Administration.

The Academy Awards

The 82nd Academy Awards will be moving from February to March 7, 2010 to avoid conflicts with the Winter Olympics. Held at the Kodak Theater, Hollywood's most glamorous awards show will be hosted by the hilarious Steve Martin and two-time Oscar winner Alec Baldwin. Tune in before the event for all the red carpet fun!

Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

The buzz has already begun on Nick's message board about the 2010 Kids Choice Awards. While information is slim at this point, we do know the show will air on March 27. Nominees will be announced in February, but rumors are flying already and everyone wants to know who will be slimed this year?

The Tony Awards

The Tony Awards will air on June 13, 2010 at 8/7c this year, broadcasting from Radio City Music Hall. More information about the "most glamorous night of the Broadway season" will be forthcoming in the spring. The Emmy Awards

NBC has announced that the 62nd Primetime Emmys will air on August 29. The show typically airs in September, but NBC has moved the date to avoid conflicts with NFL games airing on Sundays. Nominees and more information will be available in July, 2010.
