Many of the resorts on the Big Island of Hawaii have tennis courts for guests and visitors. The Fairmont Orchid in the Kohala resort area of the Big Island has one of the best tennis courts on the island, offering stadium seating for your cheering crowd. The Fairmont Orchid recently formed a partnership with the Vic Braden Tennis College and features the Dartfish video analysis to help improve your game. They offer lessons to vacationers and locals, ranging in price from $100 for a private lesson to about $500 for a three day clinic. It is $15 dollars per person to play.

At the Moana Kea Beach Hotel, also in the Kohala resort area of the Big Island, you will find the most luxurious tennis courts on the island. The Seaside Tennis Club has eleven courts along the Pacific coastline. It was rated number three on the 2009 list of Top Rated Tennis Resorts and Camps. The Seaside Tennis Club offers lessons, clinics, round-robin tourneys, and covered lanais for relaxing. Lessons range in price from $30 per person for tennis clinics to $110 per hour for private lessons. If you do not need lessons, they charge $25 dollars per person to use the courts.

If you are just looking to play a good game of tennis on the Big Island without all the fancy resort prices and people, check out Hoolulu Park in Hilo. This is a county court and only costs $2 per hour. They have both indoor and outdoor courts available. The courts fill up pretty quickly and reservations are recommended, especially for the indoor courts. Remember it rains a lot over in Hilo.
