The underlying sadness
stays with me
It breaks my heart
again and again
stays with me
It breaks my heart
again and again
Although I may smile
and laugh for a time
Inside I'm dead
I feel no joy
The sadness surrounds me
it swirls around my heart
and wafts on the air I breathe
The good times are somber
the happiness gone
The bad times are darkness
black empty voids
The underlying sadness
stays with me

This is a well-written poem. Did the emotion of sadness inspire you to write on this topic? Hopefully you aren't sad too much.
