1) Philanthropy
All fraternities and sororities have both national and local philanthropies that they volunteer and fund-raise with. Additionally, members of the Greek community take part and support the philanthropies of the houses on their campuses and become even more active related to community service because the support all the service projects that their members work with on campus. By joining a Greek organization a student can very easily contribute to their community as well as work to develop an extensive service resume.
2) Lifelong Bond
Once out of college and within the work force, it becomes of very little importance which fraternity a student was a member of and more important that they are a member of a fraternal organization. Connections can be made during job interview with alumni of other houses and their is a genuine respect and bond between all individuals that are members of Greek houses.
3) Sitting in Class
On the majority of college campuses with an active Greek community there is a large amount of interaction between all of the fraternities and sororities, so most of the time if a student does not have one of the other members of their house in a class, there will be a member of another house in that course. Therefore, there is always someone to sit with, walk from Greek Row to the class with and to study with.
4) Tutoring
Since, there is a wide variety of individuals within most campus' Greek communities, there is most likely a member of one of the houses that has taken all of the classes that a student will be in and they are always willing to help another member of the Greek community learn the information from the course or share their notes, tests, and homework assignments from when they took the class to give the other student additional resources in the course.
5) Never a Dull Moment
Between philanthropy and social events members of the Greek community are always attending another event and truly enjoying their college experience. Also because of the wide variety of involvement of members of Greek organization and the variety of events that Greek houses take part in and attend, students within the Greek community have a well rounded college experience.
6) Leadership
On a lot of college campuses the majority of student leadership offices are held by members of sororities and fraternities, solely because of the emphasis on leadership with in these organizations goals and founding principles. The members of these organizations also are very supportive of each others endeavors, which encourages them all to become more involved in their communities.
