The Unexplained Unromantic Love

April Higney
The unexplained unromantic love,
that somehow turned my world upside-down,
muscles and tattoos, crazy,
this psychotic unicycle-riding clown.

The unexplained unromantic love,
that for some odd reason, won my heart.
Fearless, he could go off skinny-dipping,
where I'd get caught, not so smart.

The unexplained unromantic love,
there have been rocky moments, yes indeed.
Instead of handing me flowers,
he'd pluck for me a wild-growing weed.

I guess it needs no explanation,
I'll still love him anyway,
and I'll listen to him snoring loudly tonight,
and deal with the mechanics of this love, what more can I say?

I guess the heart finds him sometimes silly,
tripping over his own feet if he tried to dance,
and I'll be amused in this love of mine,
I guess the laughter might be defined as romance.

This is great. The laughter might be defined as romance - sounds familiar.
