When you see a soldier flying on an airplane, don't think " murderer" " rapist" or "baby killer". Realize that he has been away from his family, that he is about ready to pee his pants he is so excited to see his daughter, who was only three months old when he left, excited to see his son, to see how well he can throw a ball and kick a football, that he is excited to finally be held by the one woman who stood by him through out his deployment. Excited, and terribly nervous. How much can a person change in a year, what if the kids don't remember me, what if my wife has changed drastically. How am I going to be able to sleep next to another human being after seeing what I have seen?
Those people who say such terrible things about our troops are ungrateful. You scream these things only because you are terrified that you recognize a blood lust within yourself. You imagine what it would be like to kill a person. How would you do it? Would you use a gun, a knife, maybe your hands...
So when you see a soldier, appreciate that they are witnessing horrifying things so that you selfish sick individuals don't have too.
Oh, and just because one man, or soldier does something, doesn't mean the entire army is the same way. It's not like mass hysteria, were one person is screaming and fleeing, or raping and killing, so everyone else has to. Many of our great and wonderful soldiers have more honor and integrity than that.
