The Uphill Battle to National Fiscal Responsibility

Snidely Whiplash
Ahead of us is a struggle that will dwarf the ObamaCare debacle. Tea Party Americans will advocate for drastic cuts. RINO's and Democrats will fight them as hard as they can. The status quo is at risk and as jaded as it may sound it seems establishment legislators will fight tooth and nail for their pet desires and in general the money and power they control.

How do we resolve this? I am taking the position that we need to balance our budget no matter how much it hurts becuase if we go belly up and become insolvent no one will get their SSI check now will they? There will be no government paid for school lunch programs either.

I wonder if progressives really do not grasp that we cannot keep printing and borrowing? I heard Charlie Rangel on Beck Monday night. Judge Napolitano was sitting in for vacationing Beck and he was trying to nail Rangel down on the budget irresponsibility Congress seems so enamored with. Rangel stated "how can we pay the debt off if we have no money?"(paraphrased). Rangle was arguing that we have to keep borrowing to make the payments on the debt. Isn't this insane on its face?

The Tea Party and more fiscally conservative Americans are clear...balance the damned budget no matter how difficult it is. At present we collect Federal revenues of about $3 Trillion per year yet our national budgets are running over $4.5 Trillion and even higher. We are spending 50% more every year than we collect. This is a recipe for total fiscal insolvency. At some point not too far in the future we will reach the point where it takes every penny of revenue to service the debt and pay entitlements.

Entitlement reform is a must, no ifs, ands or buts about it...none! The establishment types will scream old folks will lose their SSI when the reality is anyone currently collecting or over 55 at this time will get EVERYTHING they now receive or were promised. But those younger will get less and have to contribute more. Sorry, it's just the way is is. We must cut budgets to LESS THAN we collect and no matter how much that hurts it must be done to prevent insolvency. At this point that means cutting OVER $1.5 Trillion from the budget regardless of the pain. We have to spend LESS than we take in and use any overage to put on the debt. The debt payments alone are killing us and preventing that money from being used to fund the nation's genuine needs.

This is nothing more than robbing Peter to pay Paul. Is there a parent in this nation that would advocate their kids consistently spend 50% more than they earn every year? That is what the Obama Administration is doing. Yet Obama pays lip service to the whole series of events and says we need to get a handle on the insane spending, budget deficits and the debt, then he turns right around and offers budget proposals with $1.5 Trillion dollar shortfalls. He is saying what people want to hear and then doing exactly the opposite of what he said was needed. And while in fairness many Republican's are equally responsible for our current misery, is there little doubt it is progressives and Democrats arguing we cannot cut the budget without hurting the nation?

Do progressives really have any sort of genuine concern for the the "children" as they love to claim? It isn't concern for anyone other than their own power. What happened to the time honored parental sacrifice for the betterment of one's children? Clearly the words and efforts of Democrats on the budget and debt prove beyond doubt the left has zero concern for future generations of Americans. It seems they will happily spend our nation's future today to keep themselves elected and powerful. That isn't concern for anyone but themselves.

We rank and file citizens must fight them. We must elect legislators who despite the difficulty of the task will do what is best for the survival of this nation and NOT what is best to keep themselves in power. The struggle will be monumental and uphill all the way but if we do not take it on now there will come a time, and far sooner rather then later, when we go belly up into fiscal collapse. How will anyone feed the children then? It's almost as if the radical left wants us to become insolvent, sorta like I have been arguing for years.

B.0. doesn't want to reduce a penny from the billions being sent overseas. We need common sense Americans in DC.

This theory is exactly like using a 29.99% credit card to make the payments on a 5.4% mortgage! This is nuts. And don't children make the ultimate blackmail levers for those who wish to rob an ignorant and easily-guilt-tripped voter base blind? They clearly don't care about the future of anyone's children but their own spoiled offspring, for what they want in reality is to saddle "the children" with the back-breaking burden of paying the debt they amassed!

There is no real argument about what needs to happen... The disagreements that are driving this country from being a spectrum of diversity and creative thought into a two-color reality of over-simplified right and wrong are in the details of HOW.
