The U.S. Government Meddles in Other Countries' Affairs
A Look at the Problems in the Mentality of the U.S. Government
Don't get me wrong, there is a definite need to know what other countries are doing, what their capabilities are and what they intend on trying to get, at the same time some of the things that are considered by the president are a double edge sword in regards to what can be accomplished. The example of nuclear proliferation is a good example of things being a double edge sword for the simple fact that the energy production is needed but at the same time it can be used as one of the nastiest weapons in the world as we know it.
Given the fact that there are organizations out there that would have us believe that what we call terrorism comes from a specific religion or a specific place and are willing to hide beneath the surface in the most unlikely of spots, we need to defend ourselves against their intentions while showing that their strategy of using religion or a region as a rally cry to incite violence isn't going to work by showing off what is going on in our own back yard to help people who practice those religions and who come from those specific regions in positive ways.
This going on does not negate the responsibilities that the government and the president have to the domestic issues at hand that are being neglected due to the preoccupation of the president in regards to national security issue. We have domestic issues that need the same amount of attention such as healthcare, education, the economy (especially in the inner cities) and the growing gap between the super rich and the very poor.
At the moment there are rigid mandates in such things as education that is unfunded or under funded, with respect to the "No Child Left Behind" mandates which set rigid standardized tests that are not formatted for people who can't adhere to that type of format in testing but that are capable of learning and being tested in another format, due to a physical or mental impairment. With regards to healthcare, it is the general consensus that regardless of the cost of living in a given region of the country if you make a certain level of income you automatically are disqualified from federal healthcare benefits even if you can't afford the health insurance plans that are offered.
As for the economy, I do not know what is looked at when saying that the economy is doing good or bad but from what I have experienced personally the economy is not doing as well as the government is saying it is doing. If the figures are based on how specific sectors are doing financially or how the stock market is doing, then in my opinion it isn't a real basis for the economy since the economy is driven by the consumers who buy the products and services that are produced by the private sector companies.
When it comes to the gap between the super rich and the very poor, this too has it primary basis in the private sector companies, which are trying to drive down their costs. At the same there are some industries that have workers that are or could be indirect customers of businesses in those industries if the pay rates of the employees were at a level to permit them to have the incentive to buy the products or services. Unfortunately, those potential customers are lost due to the upper management looking to have the lowest possible cost for the greatest possible profit that the company can get for the money spent.
