The Usher Sex Tape and Other R&B Stars with Videos of Their Own

A sex tape starring Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster is currently being shopped around, according to TMZ. The video could have been among a few things stolen from Usher's car back in December 2009, and it sounds pretty explicit. And if the sex tape does make its way onto the internet, Usher wouldn't be the first R&B star to be exposed on the web.

In fact, just this month nude photos and video of Chris Brown leaked on the web shortly after he complained about new photos of a beat-up Rihanna hitting the web. The R&B star wasn't engaged in a sex act in his video, however (it seems he was just sexting an ex-girlfriend).

R&B singer Ray J hasn't had a successful music career like Chris Brown and Usher, however he did make a name for himself in 2007 when he starred in a sex tape along with Kim Kardashian. The sex tape went up for sale that year and generated a ton of buzz. The media attention didn't really seem to help Ray J's music career all that much, but the sex tape is mostly responsible for turning Kim Kardashian into a household name, as well as spawning her family's lucrative string of reality TV shows.

However, Dave Chappelle-spoofed R&B singer R. Kelly has the most notorious sex tape here, since the 2002 video showing him having sex with an underage girl led the singer's arrest. He was charged with 14 counts of child pornography, but found not guilty of all charges in 2008.

And female R&B artists also aren't immune to sex tape scandals. A sex tape starring Eve, an ex-boyfriend, and a sex toy hit the web in 2005, while a video purportedly starring a topless Nicki Minaj circulated on the web last year. Their fellow female musicians Rihanna and Cassie have had to deal with leaked nude photos in the past.

So with so many R&B stars already starring in sex tape scandals of their own, it doesn't seem that this leaked video will hurt Usher (although it's safe to say he'll be fighting its release).

I'm not sure I'll ever comprehend why these stars videotape themselves.
