The Very Best Golf Courses in Las Vegas

Most of the time, golfers come to Las Vegas for one main reason - to golf. Of course, if you just happen to be there and choose to also spend some time at one of the golf courses, you will probably want a course of quality. Listed below are 5 of the very best.

Angel Park

100 South Rampart Blvd.

Located 15 minutes away from the Las Vegas strip lies the Angel Park Golf club, home to two regulation-sized golf courses (Palm and Mountain), a lighted par-3 course, a lighted natural grass putting course and a huge, lighted driving range to practice your shot - in which you don't buy by the bucket, but by a certain amount of time.

Other features included are wonderful views of Red Rock Canyon and the Las Vegas Valley, a golf shop and a restaurant. What makes this club absolutely perfect, though, is the choice of places to play. Overall it's really fun, whether you're looking for something pretty challenging, or are a beginner that wants to practice.

Prices vary depending on the time of year and course you are playing on. It ranges anywhere from $9 (for the Original Putting course) to $135 (Mountain and Palm courses). If you are a junior or resident, you may get a discount. A full list of fees are here.

Bali Hai

5160 Las Vegas Blvd. South

The Bali Hai provides a tropical paradise of a golf course - to the extent where you just might forget you're in the middle of Las Vegas, except for the fact of the nice view of the Strip. Tons of trees and plants make up a very lush atmosphere that compliments the fun of playing the not-extremely-difficult par-71 course. Some holes are much more difficult than others, such as the "Shipwreck." But overall it's a great place for people looking for a mental challenge - you really need to think through each shot.

Amenities include a golf shop, lockers, snack bar, rental clubs and shoes, caddies, and an on-course beverage cart service.

Siena Golf Club

10575 Siena Monte Avenue

Surrounded by beautiful mountains and made up of wonderfully lush landscaping along with the complimenting Lake Siena, the Siena Golf Club provides a mixture of fairway golf and target golf. The course itself is beautiful and well kept, but pretty challenging. Of course, it probably looks more challenging than it actually is. The on-site restaurant is a great place to end your day at.

It's highly recommended you reserve your tee time in advance. Fees starts at around $120 per person, but they vary depending on time and season.

Bear's Best

Voted as one of the best places to play in Las Vegas, Bear's Best offers a premium (and challenging!) golf course (with 18 holes selected by Jack Nicklaus) at the base of the Red Rock Mountains with a breathtaking view of the Vegas Strip. Also offering one of the best practice facilities in Las Vegas, even beginners can get their game on here. A large clubhouse and lounge (with a restaurant on site) is great for meetings, weddings, banquets and the like, but is also a great place to just hang out.

Fees vary depending on the time of year. From May 27 - August 31, rates begin at $90, and from September 15 - December 31 they start at $150. A full list of fees are here.

TPC Las Vegas

9851 Canyon Run Drive

The surrounding elegance of the mountains and the Las Vegas skyline are just visual perks to this well-kept course, designed by the PGA Tour Design Services. Trees and sudden elevation and wind changes make this course somewhat difficult, but great if you're up to the challenge. While you're breaking a sweat in a game, you also have the option to buy a beverage from the friendly beverage cart staff that will come to you. After a game (or before, if you wish) there's a wonderful restaurant known as the TPC Grille, that serves some tasty sandwiches and snack-like foods, along with a full bar and outdoor patio.

Fees vary depending on the time of year and course you play on. In season (Sept. 17 - Dec. 31) rates for 18 holes are $275. Out of season (June 1 - Sept. 1) rates for 18 holes are $95 - $125. A full list of rates are here. Reservations for tee times are recommended.
