The Violent Storm

Steven West
Darkened clouds fill the sky.
Oh my! Oh my!
Thunderstorms erupt.
Don't give up! Don't give up!

Rain falling like shimmering glass.
Run away fast! Run away fast!
Lightning bolts touch down.
Listen to more ear piercing sounds.

Stay away from the trees.
Quick, get away! Run and flee!
Pounding your face with sudden hail.
Run for protection; Do not fail!

Almost to your destination,
Feeling violent penetration,
Open up the door real quick.
Soaked to the bone and feeling sick.

We get that a lot around here...especially those late afternoon thunderstorms during the summer. Of course, they HAVE to roll around just as I am getting out of work and standing near the bus stop.
