The Vision

Pagan Poetry

Susan Sosbe
'Twas in a dream
the Goddess came
and met me in the night
with flowing gown
and flowing hair
she glowed with
ethereal light.
With outstretched hand
she beckoned me
I followed her in trust
We traveled far
that starry night
on trails of moonlight dust.
She showed a world of wonder
of peace and love
and light
where people gave
instead of take
and loved, oh, what a sight
Not a word was spoken
I could feel it in the air
This world of love,
it could be had
we had to only care
She waved her hand
so graceful...
the scene before me past
and in its place became the world
that greed and hate had cast
She left me then
to contemplate,
to spread the fire lit
and I awoke to morning's light
'twas just a dream
...or was it?
