The Vision Behind, "Live Intentionally, Die Empty"

Beau Hannah's Approach to Life

David Patrick
I am attracted to successful people. I am attracted to successful people in whatever area they are experiencing success. I love to study individuals who are the best in their field. I am not the least bit interested in "what " they are doing, but more so in "how" they do what they do before, during and after. For instance, I love to watch the television show, House. Although the doctor, played by Hugh Laurie is an extreme jerk, he is the best. And if I am sick, I would much rather have the jerk who is the best doctor around, than the friendly idiot. Another show, non-fiction, that I like is Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen. In these shows Chef Gordon Ramsey is offering his expertise to restaurants and cooks. Gordon Ramsey is the best!

After years of watching successful people, setting up time to talk to and interview successful people, and spending time in the company of people who are the best in their field I have learned a few things. I began to take note of some things and added additional balance where morals and integrity is concerned because in my opinion a person is not successful if they have poor character and no integrity.

Live Intentionally, Die Empty Philosophy...

Think about it. People who do well in school typically do things habitually. People who are rich typically do things habitually. People who remain healthy typically do things habitually. People who stay married all their lives typically do things habitually. In order to excel in life, there are some things that must be done ON PURPOSE! If you examine your life, in whatever state that it is in, it is a sum total of the things that you consistently do. Or don't do.

There is a saying that goes, "Practice makes perfect." That's not true. The real truth is that "perfect practice makes perfect." You can continually practice the wrong things over and over and you will become proficient in the wrong things. You get the results of the actions that you initially took. But there are certain things that they successful do, however you define success, that they mediocre just do not do. This was my first "revelation" in this philosophy. -- Live Intentionally. A good life is not by chance. It's by choice, choosing to do the right things.

The other thing that I noticed about great men and women is their willingness to share the information. They pass it along and dump out and impart all they know on someone who will be patient enough to listen. They are looking for someone who is serious about possessing the gems of wisdom they have acquired. They are not interested in "casting pearls before swine" as the saying goes. The person must want what they have.

But not only in knowledge-- the successful give their time, and their money. But at the same time they are not reckless in their giving. They don't invest where they haven't investigated. They understand when it's time to give money or when it's time to share principles or both with someone down on their luck. It's an amazing thing. They continually give of themselves until their dying day. This is the "Die Empty" portion of the philosophy.

It's Amazing to See, and will change your life and the lives of others

If you have never met an individual like this, they are a work of art. They are so interesting to watch. Breathtaking even. When they show up, they are like poetry in motion. Their presence demands an explanation. So this is the philosophy that I have adopted some time ago, and it has made me a rich man financially, socially, in my family, marriage, and realationships, etc. And in being true to this philosophy, I am going to share with you some of the principles of success that if you will implement them in your life, you will see a noticeable change.

Excellent principles. It is interesting that these principles are all very simply explained in the Bible. It is the guidebook for success. A great read.
