"The Voice" Finale Predictions

Chris Houston

"The Voice" finale is just around the corner. The NBC singer competition show has surprisingly soared in the ratings in the post "American Idol" months. Now the first finale for the show pits four top notch amateur singers against one another.

So who will win "The Voice" during the initial season? What are my predictions? First, let's look at the four remaining contestants heading into the upcoming finale.

Javier Colon

Javier has been nothing short of spectacular in his last few performances. His version of "Fix You" was such a slam dunk that he easily made it into the finale. The official website for the show says Javier once signed a record deal with Capitol Records but his career never took off. It seems inevitable he'll have that opportunity now.

Beverly McClellan

Beverly surprisingly knocked out her friend and teammate Frenchie on her way to the finale with a powerful rendition of "The Thrill is Gone." Her ability to play multiple instruments is impressive and something we could see more of in the finals. A member of Team Christina Aguilera, Beverlyhas puton some of the guttiest performances in the competition.

Dia Frampton

Dia sang a terrific version of the R.E.M. classic "Losing My Religion" to advance into "The Voice" finale. Just 23 years old, Dia has a tremendous upside and one of the more unique voices in the competition.

Vicci Martinez

Vicci belted out "The Dog Days are Over" to punch her ticket into the finale. Her last performance catapulted her into another category in the eyes of the judges it seems. Now she's one of the favorites heading into the finale.

So what are my predictions for "The Voice" finale? This is a much tougher group to pick a winner from in comparison to "American Idol." Why? Because we haven't seen the huge volume of performances from each individual leading up to the finals. We've seen several-but not nearly the amount we would have seen on Idol at this point. That makes it somewhat difficult to know which singer could potentially still blow us away.

I think any of the remaining four could still change the entire outcome with an incredible performance in the upcoming shows. With that said, I still like Dia Frampton to win it all. She's the All-American girl next door and I think she'll land the popular vote when all is said and done. Frampton is a 23 year old from St. George, Utah(according to "The Voice" official website.) She has an unusual delivery that I think gives her the edge over some other tremendously talented singers in the competition. In the end, I think her unique ability will push her over the top and separate her from the rest of the competitors. If it comes down to two singers, I believe strongly that it will be Dia and Javier. Javier is ridiculously good on vocals and I believe he's earned enough fans to slip past Beverly McClellan. Martinez, who was brilliant during her last performance, will haveto come up with an incredible performance in the finale to hop past the other three fan favorites-even if the judges give her the nod.

If I were placing odds on the competition, I'd have Dia Frampton as the 2-1 favorite. Javier would be 3-1 followed by Beverly at 5-1 and Vicci at 7-1. Stranger things have happened though. Like I said before, making "The Voice' predictions is much tougher considering we just haven't seen enough evidence to cast anyone aside or promote anyone to the leaderboard just yet. That means the variables could change in the finale with incredible performances by any of the remaining singers.

Could Beverly McClellan win it all? Although I think she is incredible, I'm not sure America will feel the same way. When it comes down to popular voting, it seems America might opt for a girl next door type like Dia over Beverly.
Both are incredibly fun to watch and equally deserving of winning the competition. But I just don't feel like Beverly or Javier will havea chance when they are throw in the mix against Dia.

That's it for my "The Voice" predictions and picks for the finals. Perhaps the outcome of the show will be much different than I anticipate. With another performance left, who really knows if one of the contestants will emerge as a fan favorite. One thing is for sure, the final four of "The Voice" would stack up quite well with some of the past "American Idol" semifinals. The show has been a good summer option for those who enjoy the music competition type shows. And "The Voice" has certainly provided America with a fresh new set of faces that are backed by talent. Several of those singers who were eliminated in the semifinals were incredibly talented.

Overall, the show will probably be viewed as a success because of the strong ratings and interest. In the end, I believe Dia Frampton will emerge as the first winner of "The Voice." But there's plenty of show left before that happens.

You can tune in to "The Voice" finals on Tuesday at 8pm CST on NBC. The "Results Show" will follow on Wednesday at 7pm CST.
