"The Voice" is the Talent Show Consisting of Pure Talent
The new singing competition "The Voice" is the best new talent show on television. With coaches Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton behind the helm it gets better and better. The show is very different from "American Idol" with the only real similiarity being that both are singing competitions. They are very different competitions though.
"The Voice" has round one with each seasoned performer singing their hearts out on stage. Each coach had a chance to turn around their chair during the blind auditions in order to get that person for their team. Some of the coaches battled it out to win certain people on their team. I like that it's based on the voice, not on looks. it's all about the talent! All the singers are already experienced vocally and many already perform on their own. And they are all amazing, without a doubt.
After the blind auditions were finished and teams were assembled, the new team members were paired up with someone from their team. The heated battle made each coach choose just one of the two to remain on their team. And it wasn't easy! These are people who sing so well they take your breath away!
The battle round saw Tarralyn and Frenchie, Casey Weston and Tim Mahoney, and others pitted against each other. I was delighted to see Cee Lo choose Vicci Martinez. She is a fighter with a lot of confidence and a big, big voice! She is already an early favorite because like Cee Lo says - you can't forget her. No matter how hard you try she is unforgettable. When she sings it's from the soul and she does a war dance that says "I am here to win this!" Her competitor had the hardest job on the planet at that moment- trying to outdo her proved to be no easy challenge. And Vicci lives to sing another killer song.
Other major stand outs include Rebecca Loebe, Jared Blake, Javier Colon, Beverly McClellan, Casey Desmond, and Xenia. And they won't go out without a battle!
