The Voyage

April Higney
Setting sail on a voyage,
across a raging sea.
The tide turns in it's direction,
moving through the waters so swiftly.
Rain clouds move in,
as we sail on through the night.
Lightning strikes across the sky,
crackling in magnificent light.
The storm breaks.
The high winds are gone.
We continue in our voyage,
as time moves on.
Drifting along slowly,
with no destination yet,
letting it carry us calmly,
a voyage we won't soon forget.
Sending us to a place we've never known,
we take each other's hand.
We grasp what we've found,
our feet placed firmly upon the sand.
