While these descriptions-though incredibly funny-describe a place that I would never want to see the inside of. I was lucky enough to have patronized 2 of my local Waffle Houses throughout many shifts-including the late night and midday shifts-before hearing these descriptions; and I had luckily never experienced anything so negative.
My experiences were at the Cary Waffle House on Walnut St. and the Raleigh Waffle House on Capital Blvd. The only time my food ever took a very long time at the Waffle House, was when the place was packed on a Saturday Night. As far as my safety was concerned; I had no worries-especially at the Raleigh Waffle House on Capital Blvd.
There were 2 cops stationed at the Raleigh Waffle house to keep the peace on the weekends for the late night hours. There were never any police at the Cary Waffle House; but the environment was generally quiet and peaceful. The Cary Waffle House on Walnut St. was located in between 3 large hotels. There were always police officers driving around late night in that area.
The food was delicious and consistent at both Waffle House locations; and the workers make it in front of you. As far as Waffle House cleanliness; I had absolutely no issues. My take-out food was presented to me in clean, very nice; restaurant style plastic containers. I was also provided with forks; knives, condiments and plenty of napkins. The food tasted fresh and unfrozen. The waitress at the Cary Waffle House was especially nice. Many people eating there actually knew one another for many years; and you could easily fall into a comfortable conversation.
At the Waffle House on Capital Blvd. in Raleigh.; the staff was as friendly and as efficient as could be expected. This Waffle House location is very popular and can become very busy at night. The food at the Raleigh Waffle House on Capital Blvd. was equal to the quality of the food at the Waffle House location in Cary. I have patronized the Raleigh, Capital Blvd.Waffle House location many times.
It may be that Waffle House Restaurants located in other places in the country are of a lower standard. I don't know. But as far as these two Waffle House locations go; I happily tip the staff at both the Cary and Raleigh restaurants. I also intend to eat at both Waffle Houses again and again.
