The Waiting - ||

July 7 -
poisoned,
a slow relief slips
through muscle structures
and the next fourteen days
are a slow,
creaking,
cracking,
uncurling
of toxins working
their transitory magic.

August 7 -
thirty one days
passed and poisoned relief
is complete -
he moves now
with an ease
you can only dream.

September 7 -
sixty-two days in
and then it begins; the slow
leaching of time
leaves poisons fading, leaves
a man with thirteen days before
the slow,
creaking,
cracking,
curling
becomes complete
once more; leaves
a body to be governed
by law, by bean counters
dictating a wait
of fifteen days more
before
the slow,
creaking,
cracking,
uncurling
can return.

October 7 -
ninety-two days gone. Two
past an establishment's rule,
spastic, convulsion ruling a body
controlled by programming,
rage, and little else
but the law of accountants -
he is waiting....

Waiting.
Waiting at 2:08 AM
for the fourteen day healing
to begin in nine

long

slow

hours.

Waiting -
unable to sit,
to stand,
to lie down,
to sleep,
to wake - all he can do
is wait for 11:00 AM hoping
bean counters grant
a full dosing. Waiting
for a healing
that slowly
kills.

Thank you my friend. For better, or worse, all I can do is write my thought as it happens. ;-)
