"The Walking Dead" this week introduces two potential bizarre plots, one is Daryl, who's seeing his brother Meryl in hallucinations and the other is Hershel, who's got a barn load of walkers he's got locked up. Just when you thought "The Walking Dead's" country vet turned doctor was a kindly old gent, a sick collection of zombies show up in his barn, hidden away from Rick and his group.
Daryl's not used to the treatment he's getting from the rest of the survivors, they're nice to him. In his hallucinations this week, the fans got to see how he was bullied by his brother Meryl, who seems to change him, instantly back to the way he was. Daryl is seen eating a raw squirrel and he comes back to the Greene Farm after falling off a horse with a necklace strung with zombie ears.
What's up with Herschel? His barn is locked and is full of walkers, which Glen stumbled on by accident when he thought he'd meet Maggie in the hayloft for more sex. The previews for next week show Maggie telling Glenn why the walkers are in the barn, but that's an answer the viewers won't get until next week.
What could be the possible reason for keeping them penned up? Are they relatives and townspeople that he can't bear to put down? Are they protecting some fortune kept out in the barn, or is he doing some strange experiments trying to find a cure for the zombie pandemic?

Post a CommentI vote for Herschel working on an anti-zombie serum/cure in his (also hidden) hi-tech lab, outfitted with diesel-powered centrifuges and the like. Best TV show since "Homicide."
