The War on American Prosperity

How Radicals Are Taking Over Our Economy

James Watson
We are facing the end of American prosperity as we know it. The signs are all around us and we can also feel them. What has happened and who is responsible? Most Americans will not face up to the fact that both political parties have failed us, but they only want to blame one, the Republicans. The fact is: the Democrat Party has led us into the quagmire we exist today from a well-orchestrated plan that has been in process since the days of FDR. But even the great FDR would not have guessed at how his party has taken America down to a level never before seen.

Many Americans will not face up to the truth because they have not been trained to do so. The Democrat Party has be indoctrinating party members for over 50 years into thinking one way; that Democrats can do no wrong and that Republicans are evil. It is in everything they say, everything they do, and every action they take. I know this because I was born and raised in a household practicing this. My parents continuously and openly expressed their hatred of the "right" and how Republicans were guilty of greed and corruption. I had no reason to doubt them until I began to earn money on my own. Then I began to ask rational, logical questions.

Each an every Democrat, whether understanding the definition of the words liberal or conservative, needs to ask themselves questions. These questions are based on the real, not the taught. Those Americans who are Republicans don't need to ask these questions because they have probably already done so. I have devised a method here of presenting these points so that those reading them can ponder on their importance. This does not mean that one party is exempt from those things that are destroying American politics. It is a fact that very few Democrats believe at this point that their party can do anything wrong. That falsity is what has brought us to the brink of ruin.

First of all, ask yourself this. If the Democrat Party has all the answers, then why did more than forty years of their control of Congress result in higher taxes, higher dropout rates from high schools, and bigger government? Most Americans do not understand that the President, whoever he or she may be, does not spend money: Congress does. And they have spent like it was out of style! But many in the media and in the Democrat Party would have you believe that only Republicans are guilty. Both parties have increased spending, but the Democrat Party is upping the bill presently higher than anyone could ever imagine.

Take a look at the socalled "stimulus package." There is very little in it that stimulates economic growth. There is so much "pork' spending in it that it will not be paid for in many years, even decades. Ask yourself this: when you or your family get in financial difficulty, do you go out and spend more? That is what the Democrats are telling us, and yet it makes absolutely no sense. The only way you get out of a financial mess is by cutting your spending. So does it make sense that the Democrat-controlled government wants to spend more in a short time than we spend in a lifetime?

Does it make sense that checks should be sent out to illegal aliens, individuals who earn nothing and pay nothing for the American government, but only take from it? Does it make sense that people sitting home earning welfare checks and never paying taxes themselves should also get checks sent to them, supposed "tax refunds" for stimulating the economy? Just as it may not make sense for the billions of dollars in bailout money to be paid in bonuses to people in previously failing businesses, it doesn't make sense to "reward" individuals for doing nothing but sitting at home letting the government take care of them.

Does it also make sense that Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, should exclude House Republicans completely from government? She has done so to write her own stimulus package, one that does not include representatives who were elected by Ameicans to serve them. Does she and the other Democrats have the right to exclude elected officials from serving their duties simply because they are of a different party? This is actually what has happened. The founding fathers formed our government to prevent one party or the other from seizing absolute power, but that is exactly what has happened.

How many Americans, especially Democrats, have actually "read" this stimulus package? There is a reason why it is being called by some a "Porkulus Package" at best. It is filled with personal offers of reciprocity and paybacks for votes. This is what has happened to our political system. And with bigger government you'll get even more of it. Is this what Americans want?

And why are Democrats willing to accept graft and corruption from their own party leaders but not from the opposing side? The new administration has selected a Secretary of State with conflict of interests with the leaders of countries that she will be doing business with. We have a finance director who did not pay his taxes for four years. Does that sound like a person you want running your finances? And we have another selection who was caught taking documents from a government archive.

Even the selection of President has been baffling. Think of this: would you want an "inexperienced" person say, fixing a new roof on your house or repairing your car? That is what we have done. Our new President's greatest achievement was to help gain federal funds for his district's housing complexes, all of which are either closed today or condemned. Does any of this make sense.

So we are being told that we need to spend over a trillion dollars more to save our economy. What? We have already spent billions of dollars and Congress admits that it wasn't "enough." We don't even know where it went. Ask yourself this; why didn't the previous money bail out our economy? Why do we need more? And what evidence do we have that we will not need more?

The fact is that none of this will ever work. It never has. Any time historically that a government grows, it spends. It feeds off of itself and cannot consume enough. This is liberalism at its best, and its worst. That is why government is not the answer, but it is the problem. Politicians grow government because it is the way they gain and keep power. That is why our founding fathers tried to write a Constitution that would limit the powers of government, or one branch or group. This is now what the Democrat Party has created: a government of one party control and ultimate power to spend and raise taxes. They will do more of it before they will stop it.

That is why our economy is being destroyed. The Democrats have made it "evil" to make money or to be successful. They have demonized the American Dream and have made it sound as if we do not deserve it. They are wrong, but many millions of Americans have been raised to accept it. Contrary to popular belief, or statements recently made, liberals are not born; they are taught and raised. Liberalism simply does not work. Period. You need to realize this and accept it.

Our children will never be able to pay all this "pork"back, and they will pay a terrible price. The Democrat Party of Kennedy and FDR is gone. In its place is a greedy, power-hungry group of radicals who are placing us in danger. They are ready to create a dictatorship that will prevent any other party, especially an invigorated Republican Party, from even sharing in government. It has been recently rubbed in the faces of conservatives that the Democrats won and are now in complete control. Gloating does not become the right; only the left. Here is the truth: the Democrats and President Obama did not really win the elections; the American people lost them. The evidence is in the fact that no amount of money is improving our economy. You cannot spend into oblivion to save yourself economically. It is sheer madness.
