The waterfall in the village of Faga'alu can be found way to the back of the village. A forest trail, which winds up the face of the mountainside, is the only accessible route to the waterfall. Because of the rough conditions of the trail, this route should only be attempted on a clear sunny day. Once you take your first sight of the falls, you would think yourself in another primordial world. The waters fall in a shimmering veil that reflects the glare of the sun on a beautiful sunny day. Its neverending roar would lull you into a trance that would soothe the soul, while a rainbow would play across the width of the falls. The waters are fresh, with a depth that cannot be felt by a swimmer or diver. Ancient rocks and trees surround this piece of paradise, barring it from the views of Man and all his technologies...
The waterfall of Faga'alu is a great place for tourists and sight seers. One may go there to escape the speed of modern life, and to relax away the pains and trials of living. It soothes the soul, and eases away tension. The waterfall of Faga'alu is but the first recommended place to see in Tutuila, American Samoa...
