The Weight of Washington on Our Shoulders

Fire the Politicians Who Do Not Work for Solutions

The White House spokesperson stated recently, "What I'm not going to do is publicly say, you know, what all of our positions are on these financial issues, because that's stuff that's happening in a negotiating room."

My question to him would have been, "Just exactly WHAT is happening in the negotiating room " or not happening behind those closed doors?" I can tell you we are spiraling down the toilet drain as our leaders (and I use that term loosely) are whittling away at what little America has left in the bank. The Business Insider recently wrote, "Washington's biggest borrowing binge since World War II." You can read it here.

We need only to remember the staggering statistics from the impact of the Wall Street crash in 1929 and the Great Depression that followed. There were an overwhelming 12 million people out of work and 12,000 more being unemployed everyday along with the 20,000 companies filing for bankruptcy. In the end, over 23,000 people committed suicide in just one year unable to face the impending disaster.

In our community of roughly a few thousand, we have seen this recent economic downturn's affects upon the lives that Washington has lost sight of. Grown men and women are jumping off bridges and ending their lives as they cannot see clearly through the financial fog that has settled over them. Just last week, the CEO of a major bank in Middletown, New York leaped from the Newburgh Beacon Bridge when the weight of the financial debt crisis became too much to bear.

In the words of Elizabeth Ann Seton, "Live simply that others might simply live."

Strong and powerful words from Ms. Seton. Words that Washington should embrace and make as their mantra. I am tiring from the weight that Washington has placed upon the shoulders of the American people.

I'm close to booting them all out of office and taking back the country before there is nothing left to fight for. One media outlet joked that they are "Burning down the US House!" Somebody dial 911 before they cut the financial spending for emergency systems.

We need help and we need it fast. The weight of Washington's fiasco is weighing down upon us and August 2 is looming near.

Somebody dial 911.
