The Wet 'n Wild I-Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil Provides Quality Without the High Price

A Product Review

Charlotte Kuchinsky
I am picky when it comes to my cosmetics. First of all, I have very sensitive skin so I can't wear all of the brands out there today.

Secondly, I'm not into paying $10, $15, $20 or even more for something I'm going to have to replace in just a few short months. I have better ways to spend money in this day and age; like paying bills or buying food.

Lastly, I want makeup products that do what they say they will do and don't waste my time, my money or my patience. Nothing riles me up like false advertising and cosmetic manufacturers are some of the worst of the lot.

When I need new eye pencils, there is only one brand I ever consider. That is Wet 'n Wild. Not only do they provide a good selection, they do it at a reasonable price. Plus, I've never purchased a Wet 'n Wild product that didn't perform exactly as advertised.

My latest discovery is the their I-Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils. Since my eyes are blue/green, I purchased the teal version, which they call Skylights. It is #969.

There is just a hint of shimmer in this creamy liner. It is achieved with a micro glitter so tiny it can't flake off or get into the eye. It can; however, reflect light to make your eyes glow beautifully.

What I love most about this liner is the way it flows on without tearing or damaging delicate skin. That is imperative for me given that I am nearly 61 and my skin is aging.

The liner is light and airy, gliding on with perfect precision. You can draw a fine or wide line simply by adjusting the pressure you use. If you want to smudge it for a smoky eye effect, a small foam applicator at the end of the pencil allows you to achieve that with ease. Once in place, you will forget you even have it on.

Since the pencil is retractable, it won't break off like many standard eye pencils do. It always stays sharp because of the built-in sharpener in the pencil base.

I also love the fact that this liner contains rich Shea Butter and all-important Vitamin E. That means that it conditions and moisturizes as it colors. That's an incredible bonus you don't get with most eye pencils.

Colors vary somewhat according to season. You can; however, count on the standard black and blue; known as Starlights and Nightlights.

Ingredients include beeswax, candelilla wax, carnuba wax, caster seed oil, hydrogenated palm oil, lanolin, mica, nylon and paraffin. It also includes acrylates copolymer, BHT, methylparaben, oleyl alcohol, ozokerite, zinc stearate, propylparaben. It may also have aluminum powder, chromium oxide greens, iron oxides, manganese violet, titanium dioxide and ultramarines.

Wet 'n Wild I-Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil should be available wherever Wet 'n Wild products are sold. That includes many drug stores and discount department stores as well as some grocery marts and beauty boutiques.

The cost of this pencil will vary slightly from store. However, the average cost is an economical $1.99. The highest price I could find was $2.49. The lowest price, on sale, was .99 cents.

I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. It is simply great in every sense of the word.
