The White House Party Crashers: Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

Was it the Blonde Hair?

The White House party crashers, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, were questioned by the Secret Service and may face criminal charges for crashing the White House A-list state dinner, as reported at RadarOnline.com. According to the New York Daily News, the White House blames the Secret Service for letting the uninvited couple into the dinner. However, it is still unclear as to why the Secret Service let the couple attend the dinner in the first place.

The White House party crashers look like a respectable high profile couple. Looks can be deceiving

When you look at Tareq and Michaele Salahi, they look wealthy and respectable. They look like an example of high society. In addition, Michaele has long blonde hair. Found at Wikipedia: "In contemporary popular culture, it is often stereotyped that men find blonde women more attractive than women with other hair colors. Alfred Hitchcock preferred to cast blonde women for major roles in his films as he believed that the audience would suspect them the least, hence the term "Hitchcock blonde."

When the Secret Service looked at Michaele Salahi, they weren't concerned. Put her on the arm of Tareq and she's Tareq's secret weapon. As it turns out, the couple are not only party crashers, but an ulterior motive has been revealed and a history of other unflattering details.

The couple is looking to be paid big bucks for a tell-all

This latest news adds insult to injury to Obama and his staff. As reported at the New York Daily News, the couple wants to take their experience and turn it into a tell-all for a six-figure sum. If this is true, Tareq and Michaele Salahi had no real interest in Obama, only in crashing the dinner to earn lots of money.

Writing a tell-all isn't the only thing that dulls the diamonds of the White House party crashers

According to the New York Daily News, the couple's home is in foreclosure; Tareq's winery is in bankruptcy; Michaele has failed to get on Real Housewives of Washington D.C. and records showed that she lied about being a Washington Redskins cheerleader. In addition, according to Fox News, people have questioned the couple's fundraising tactics and what they do with the money once they receive it.

Money problems may be the reason why the Salahis became White House party crashers. The episode is an embarrassment for the White House and a reminder to never judge a book by its cover.

an earlier comment got partially destroyed. however, what i continue to be amazed at is how so many folks aren't taking this as something quite serious and out of the ordinary. the country needs a strong deterent for this sort of stunting by wannabees. they shouldn't be permitted to make a single dime from their arrogance. in fact, all those who had photos taken of themselfs with these imposters should be allowed to sue them for each time their pictures appear in public, and all photos the sahali's have from this event should be taken from them and destroyed. a drunk man sitting in some lonely bus station makes a drunken comment about wanting the president to die, and finds himself facing federal charges of threatening the president, though he never had any such intentions. the sahali's definitely had ill will on their minds when they went to the wh, knowing they'd not a formal invite. i'd venture to surmise they probably got more photos taken of themselves with more dignitaries

these two imposters should be charged with whatever offense can be said under the law to fit their conduct, which, at best, was to make certain that they pulled off this stunt for the purpose of furthering their ambitions of becoming stars of their own reality show, that they might avoid more of the monetary woes they are facing. also, people need to understand that this is the white house. how many people could have been harmed by either of the crashers, had they specially had some sort of chemical or liquid weapons smuggled in with them. how are other foreign heads of state to feel about their personal security. to let these tow wannabes get off without any charges is bad. but to let them get off and to allow for them to financially profit from this is outrageous. if they want fame and fortune, then, i say, put their butts in jail for a decent period of time, not the traditional sentence given to the rich and famous and powerful. they potentially put the president, the v.p. an

I guess what I don't understand is how anybody with any degree of sight could have ever mistaken these two for anyone important? The least that she could have done is t clean up a bit. she looked like she slept in the driveway, and if he isn't a gay as they come, then I guess their not coming. he should be charged with criminal trespass, and someone should give her a makeover....God-where are the fashion police when you need them....and whoever designed that dress, please find your real talent soon! I've seen better things used as wall-hangings on a college dorm room. Oh-and please tell Mr. nobody that a little less moisturizer will make him look less like the colossal drip he is.As for being at all interesting enough for a reality show? One dose of these two would put anyone to sleep!

This proves that white thin bleached blondes can get away with anything in this country. They definitely have an unearned privilege in America. I think this is why so many women bleach their hair blonde. Ms. Jolie Du Pre, I saw your picture and know that you are black. You would have been arrested and thrown in jail had you tried to pull this same stunt at the White House. Why isn't there more outrage over these two sleaze balls?

Those two know what lavish is, they had 1800 guests at their wedding and I can't remember how many bridesmaids and ushers and doves...they were on The Today Show but I turned it off because I had things to do, good article, thanks Jolie!

    Good point, Charlotte.

I guess someone got to see just how lavish those parties are while thousands of Americans are starving for work, shelter, and food.

  • Jolie du Pre 11/30/2009

I bet it won't happen again.

  • Patricia Sicilia 11/30/2009

These people should be slapped in jail. I cannot believe people are treating this like a joke. Two uninvited people got into a presidential reception!
