The Wii Sports Resort Video Game Review

This Wii Sports Resort video game review will try to include all of the features that Nintendo has added to its original Wii Sports game. That might prove to be a difficult task, because there are so many improvements in the new version. This Wii Sports Resort video game review can in no way cover all of the pluses in this new version of a very popular game.

What's New

The first aspect of this review of Wii Sports Resort that will be highest on the "latest and greatest" category is the motion upgrade technology. The original controller was functional enough, but reflected circular movement only. Although Wii is a true innovation in game controlling, a player's moves were not necessarily recreated realistically. Nintendo has redesigned their control software into an adapter that plugs into the Wii controller. The Wii MotionPlus adds the dimension of linear movement. Now, the controller can more accurately follow a player's movements in real time, lending a more natural reproduction, in the opinion of this Wii Sports Resort video game review.

New Games

This vastly improved technology allowed Nintendo to increase the number and quality of the games in the Wii Sports Resort video game. A few of the games that adapt best to the new control capability are table tennis and swordplay, according to this Wii Sports Resort video game review. Each movement is recreated, so that a player can precisely aim a paddle or a weapon, including control of angles and wrist movements. Wakeboarding and archery are also rewarding and the bowling and golf games in Wii Sports Resort are vastly improved, with a built-in capability to control the spin of the ball.

Frisbee is now included and it is more challenging than it sounds, requiring exact timing to release and spin the Frisbee so the dog can catch it. Frisbee Golf is added to the selection as part of this Wii Sports Resort video game review, for those who are familiar with the game. There are also canoeing and cycling games, although these are the least rewarding as far as involved synchronized movement. Other new games include Power Cruising with a jet-ski and Air Sports, which lets the player skydive, fly around WuHu island, or even have a dogfight with another player.

Who Can Play

Not only can solo play be part of the experience for owners of the Wiimote, multiple players can join in when extra Wii MotionPlus adaptors are purchased.

And you will discover in this Wii Sports Resort review that a player can find other players through connecting to the internet directly. This only adds to the fun that can be had and this is only what would fit in this Wii Sports Resort video game review.
