A Great Community Event

DESCRIPTION

The Wilkes-Barre Farmers Market is a great community event. It brings the community together for a day of relaxation and fun and helps citizens get some really great deals from local farmers. Of course, it supports our local farmers. In addition to the farmers, the event features vendors who sell prepared food, live entertainment, special guests and performances, and many organization set up booths at the event. One can learn a lot at these booths. I attend the farmers market every chance I get. Here are the particulars for the farmers market:

WHEN: Thursdays - June through Fall

WHERE: Public Square, Wilkes Barre PA (Luzerne County PA.)

THE BOOTHS

One can learn a lot from the special booths at the farmers market. Once I visited The Social Security Administration. I took home a handout and was surprised to learn what a comprehensive web site they offer. At their web site one can get a lot done including the following:

* Apply for retirement, spouse's or disability benefits

* Estimate your retirement benefits

* Use their benefits planners

* Get proof of your benefit amount

* Apply for extra help with Medicare prescription drug plan costs
