Racism thrives in Jena when a white public official allegedly declared boldly: "I can make your lives go away with a stroke of the pen."

But who was Willie Lynch and what does it mean "the Lynch syndrome thrives in Jena, LA?"
If you read the Willie Lynch information carefully, you saw that "lynching" does not refer to the person who dies, but the survivors! Lynch believed that if you destroyed one or two slaves as brutally as you could, the survivors would become so traumatized, so fearful, that they would fall in line and stay there, afraid to demand freedom, justice and equality. Thus they became lynched!
The racists in Jena believe the white supremacists across the country abandoned the grand cause of racism--to insist, however senselessly, that no one but people descended from Anglo-Saxon Europeans possess the right to be considered fully human. According to this racist mantra, all other people reside, more or less permanently, on lower levels of the evolutionary cycle. So the Jena racists have taken matters into their own hands, using a modern version of the Lynch syndrome. Convict and sentence six African American high school students, not gang members, not drug dealers, not crazy criminals, but high school students to outrageous prison terms and they "lynch" a nation!
But even their strategy is not the real tragedy of Jena Louisana!
The real tragedy is that the people--the targets of this "lynching" did not immediately generate $1 million and dispatch to Jena the best team of defense attorneys a million dollars can buy. Farfetched? I think not!
Click here to see if we can do this in North Carolina, for example.
Did you see the numbers? African Americans in North Carolina spent $35.9 billion last year! Can 200,000 of us across the state come up with $5 before the end of September--a total of $1 million--to finance an outstanding defense team to handle the court cases of the Jena 6? Yes we can! Will we? That remains to be seen! Should we? Absolutely! Why?
We find the answer in a poem written in the aftermath of Hitler's atrocities: "When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent. I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent. I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I remained silent. I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent. I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out!
If we allow the racists in Jena, Louisiana to imprison these six young men with impunity, don't worry, the racists will eventually come for each of us. If we do not defend them now, who defends us later? Let us not be lynched! Let us raise $1 million by the end of September to defend these young men. This feat will do more than free them, it will say to racists nationwide--this much and no more. This far and no further!

Post a CommentI love my dark race. I love my black facebut, I must say that the white racists of this country aren't as powerful as we make them. It's not the hatred that they have for us that weakens us. It's the separation of us that holds us down. Lets love trust and build up us and pay no never mind to those who oppose us . The freedom comes with us truly loving US.
ct: Bell was a star player on the football team and I believe an honor student. People do not offer scholarships (even for sports) to students with bad grades. The "victim" was not so innocent; he provoked the fight, by taunting Robert Bailey about getting his "ass whooped" by a group of white students. Actually one of the beaters of Bailey was 22, which seems rather thugish to me, for an "adult" to beat up a minor. Bell, btw, may not have been involved in the altercation and his "violent criminal" history, might have to do with "wresting the shotgun" from the guy who pointed it at him.

I see White racist people still don't get it. They are the main evil doers and try to make it seem as if Blacks are the ones doing wrong. "The biggest treat Satan has done is to make people believe that he does not exist". That is what racists are doing We done exist, believe me I wasn't wrong, it's the black people that are the problem. What a joke thay are! But, if you hold all the Aces in the deck, Law enforcement, The judicial System, and the business/financial world why not act as if you are not wrong.
milton,
it's all in your head, so get a grip. the Jena 6 area a bunch of thugs and proved it by gangbanging on an innocent fellow student. the one punk currently locked down has a violent history and a previous criminal record. he deserves to be removed from society.
sistagirl: People took action on Thrusday the 20th. FYI: Hot off the press, Shamontiel's first report about her trip to Jena: www.associatedcontent.com/article/388808/jena_6_rally_part_1_the_scene.html
To the persistent ignorant: I am trying to condense the words of Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit" as it relates to kids hanging nooses and provoking the whole Jena tragedy. This is from Billie Holliday (can call up on Internet under "Strange Fruit"), here goes: ...."Southern trees bear strange fruit, blood in the leaves and blood in the roots .... Black bodies swinging in the Southern breeze, strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.....Pastoral scene of the gallant South, the bulging eyes and the twisted mouth.... Scent of the magnolias sweet and fresh, then the sudden smell of burning flesh....Here is the fruit for the crows to pluck, for the rain to gather, for the wind to suck.....For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop, here is a strange and bitter crop."..... DO YOU NOW RECOGNIZE THE SIGNIFCANCE OF HANGING NOOSES?? If my white peer readers among you cannot GAIN from the depth of those words and regress your oppression in Jena, there are no more words that I can offer.
I hope that as a race of people we will one day be better at uniting and fighting such injustices. I've made donations in my own name and in the name of my 11 year old daughter and I hope everyone who has heard of or read about this most unfortunate series of events will do the same. We need to stop saying we can make a difference and start making the actions it takes to make a difference. It doesn't take much at all especially if everyone is proactively doing their part.

Wow, even when a white person gets attacked by a group of black people, somehow blacks are still the victims......
Could you imagine if a group of white students sucker punched a black student and when he was on the ground started kicking him in the head? You know you would want to have them charged with a hate crime and sent away for a very long time. You sure wouldn't have any sympathy and say "oh they just young kids and made a mistake". They would be evil racists and would be branded by as so by all special interest groups and the media for life.
