The Wind Blows Where it Wills

Thomas Griffin
"Today is a new day" one will say
As he chases after the wind
Not knowing where it may blow
He decides to follow it anyway
It grants him an adventure
A sordid one at best
But joyous does he seem
To follow this unyielding quest for success
The folly of his heart is blinded by his mind
But who's to say he's wrong? He's living the American dream
And by all means
Go right ahead and pursue your dream
Chase after the wind to find yourself
Is this not what our world desires?

But today the wind has blown
A little too fast
And gone a little too far
And has once again evaded the grasp of many - as always
It has morphed into tangible things
The money, the power, the glory
He has almost caught it - almost
But almost will never be enough
Because his soul has been created
With a longing for eternity
And the wind is nigh but mortal
A small glimpse of its Brilliant Mind

Idols are everywhere.

Nice. Reminds me a bit of the song by Donovan in the 1960s... "Catch the Wind."
