The New Windows Live Hotmail Service: Have You Seen It?

Just when I Think it Can't Get Any More Complicated, it Does

Aimee E
As a user of Hotmail since 2002, I have grown to love it. Unfortunately, within the past few weeks, it has undergone a makeover which has made me despise it. After finally figuring out how the changes work (I am using the classic version), this morning I come out and found the biggest eyesore in my inbox. New messages are yellow; which is normal, but the font is huge and bolded. So combine large, bold font with yellow highlights and you can imagine what kind of a headache I am having. I can only look at the screen for a few seconds before my eyes seem like they are becoming crossed. I seriously doubt that Microsoft will bring back the "old" Hotmail (pre-September of this year), but should they keep the current version of this one (minus today's changes), I am seriously going to have to find another email provider.

Please Microsoft, listen to the consumer. If we have to look at things that will have us cross-eyed and suffering from headaches, well, then you will not have very many users left. As a small business owner, this greatly influences my opinion and attitudes towards Microsoft and how in the future whether or not I will purchase their products.

So I ask my fellow readers, how is Hotmail (the version from November, 2007) working for you? Are you experiencing the same large, bold font and yellow highlights? Can you live with it or is it driving you just as crazy? Please let me know in the comments section, as I would like to hear from a large consensus of the population.

I hate Hotmail in general. I try to stay away from it.

Great article! Visit my page sometime if you want!

This was driving me crazy too but there's a fix. On the toolbar at the top of the screen click on view, then text size and choose the size you want.
