The Winds of Life, a Poem
Sometimes We Feel Defeated by Things Around Us, but Having Faith Will Make Things Better
The World is full of many things
Some of these we can't control
It reminds me of a butterfly's wings
Flapping in the winter wind so cold.
It seems so out of place at times
And yet it is a natural part of life
Not much around us is straight lines
And even butterflies have to face strife
The winds of life whip us around
We may find ourselves in a whirl
Maybe shoved and pushed on down
Into a churning sea that is aswirl.
Nature is unkind to some of us
To others it treats them just fine
But in our daily hustle and rush
It plays withour unconscious mind
We need to look over clouds above
Past the whirling winds and driving rain
For somewhere there's a bright white dove
To give us back our faith again.
