The Winner - A Comedy Show Worth Watching

The winner is a successful venture of the duo Ricky Blitt and Seth Macfarlane who are also famous as producer for the TV series Family Guy. 'The Winner' was first premiered on Fox on March 4, 2007 and it was an immediate success since then. The plot of the series revolves around a 43 year old narrator. He is a successful rich man and he looks back to the year 1997, when he was 32 and bachelor. It's a journey of Glen Abbott (played by Rob Corddry), the central character, who finally comes out of the world, he was living and tries to prove a point. The story is all about his desire and zeal for doing something and to win the heart of Alison McKellar(Played by Erinn Hayes), the only girl he'd ever kissed, when the girl returns back to the town. Driven by his simplest goal he transformed himself from a shaky underachiever to the richest man in Buffalo in just five years. In his expedition, he gets the support of Allison's thirteen years old son Josh (played by Keir Gilchrist). Two fellow hypochondriacs relate each other in the same zone in which they exist.

Six episodes aired for the series and these are

1. Becoming Glen: In the summer of 1994, when Bill Clinton was president, a 32 year old underachiever still living with his parents when Allison McKeller, returns to town with her son Josh. She is the only girl, Glen had ever kissed. Allison inspires Glen to stand up on his own and helps him to get matured to win his heart. Glen and Josh become quick friends and ends up dating Allison and Josh's sweat heart.
2. The Single Dates: When Allison, a divorcee, invites Glen for dinner. Glen elated by the invitation, was preparing for the dinner when a co-worker convinces him how a divorcee with her sexual urges would expect of him. Glen, skeptical of his sexual performance visits a message parlor to get a quick tutorial.
3. Broken Home: Glen started to spend more and more time with Allison and Josh while his parent's marriage was at stake. Glen decides to call the first family meeting and tries to solve the problem between his parents and helps them to love each other once again.
4. What happens in Albany, Stays in Albany: Allison can't accompany his son to a weekend trip for the State Spelling Bee and requests Glen to go with Josh. Since they are unknown there and just for fun they decided to masquerade. Glen wears toupee and becomes airline pilot "Lance Manley" and Josh pretends to be a cocky champion.
5. Glen's New Friend: Glen feeling lonely and jealous when Josh befriends a sweet kid in school. He decides to find a friend for himself too and ends up in befriending a gay with a crush on Glen.
6. Hot For Teacher: Glen goes to Josh's school pretending him as a father of him. In school he reunites with his old homeroom teacher Miss Burko and gets a good private lesson on love.
