The Wish Upon a Hidden Star

A.M. Morgan
How can you allow yourself to become vulnerable?

So you say it's time to completely detach yourself from the situation.

How can you say you love someone so soon?

So you say it's not you but me to deny the truth of what you feel.

How can you return to an unforgettable past?

So you say it was just never meant to be despite the fact it refuses to leave your memory.

How can you be lonely in a crowded room?

So you say it's not worth facing the pain and the fact a subtle emptiness remains.

How can you allow yourself to be the victim of the same circumstance all over again?

So you say it's nothing more or less than a coincidence.

How can tears fall from the face of a callused heart?

So you say it's just a simple causality of being a fool for something or someone from the start.

How can you say goodbye even if it is something you don't want?

So you say turn cold and walk away without recognizing you played a key part.

How can any of us pretend things are not the way they are?

It's because we often wish upon the defense mechanism star.

"How can you say you love someone so soon?" There's a question I wish more women would ask their new boyfriends? The same advice goes for the guys and their gals as well!

Great work! The defense mechanism can be a culprit in any relationship.

WHOA! That was intense. I don't what else to say.

I like it...deserves a larger audience than David and I...

Defense mechanism or denial? Both seem like reality when, in fact, both are distortions or final outposts of hope.
