The Witch and the Ludicrous Swimmer

Darla M. Beck
The witch stood by her large black cauldron,
gazing out across the vast blue ocean.
She suddenly caught a glimpse of movement,
while she stirred her boiling magic potion.

She removed the ladle from the hot brew,
placed it on a blanket spread in the sand.
She saw a figure fighting the huge waves,
as the ludicrous swimmer swam for land.

Deadly sharks were trailing close behind,
intent on having fresh meat for their meal.
The witch let out an ear-splitting cackle,
for her laughter she could not conceal.

The witch experieced such a gleeful feeling,
for today a human sacrifice would be made.
The ludicrous swimmer moved with frantic strokes,
while he desperately swam for his life and prayed.

Hah - good one. I bet that the ludicrous swimmer was the witch's husband though - he forgot her birthday or something

    Thanks again for playing Darla

Nicely done, Darla. Challenging for a ludicrous swimmer.
