The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Details Revealed by Universal Orlando
Harry Potter Wizarding Attractions, Restaurant, Shops Finally Revealed September 15, 2009
The author of the Harry Potter books JK Rowling, and Warner Brothers are working closely with Universal to bring Harry Potter's world to life. The art producer Alan Gilmore who is working on creating the theme park also worked on the sets for the film. In the video found on Universal's website Alan states that "you will be able to touch, taste and experience Harry's world."
Tom Williams the CEO of Universal Parks announced that "the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be unlike any other experience."
On the Universal website you find that they are staying true to the books, by including Harry's entire world.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will start with the archway of Hogsmeade, you will see the Hogwarts Express at Hogsmeade station where you will hear the whistle of the train and see the bullowing smoke. To the left of the station will be Zonkos Joke Shop where you can purchase boxing telescopes, and other gags seen throughout the books and films. Next to that will be Honeydukes where you can buy chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's ever flavor beans.
In the main village will be Three Broomsticks restaurant and pub, where you will be able to eat there and drink butter beer and pumpkin juice. Across from the broomsticks you will find the Owlery , where the Owls rest before their next journey with the Owl Post next door where you can buy official Hogwarts stamps to place on the letters for the owls to carry.
Ollivander's wand shop will be interactive where the wand will choose the wizard. It is revealed that there will be over 1000 old wand boxes in this shop. Other shops include the magical instrument shop Dervish and Banges, and Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods.
The attraction of Hogwart's Castle will be a walk through interactive experience called Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. You will see room to room, the castle brought to life. Another attraction is called The Dragon Challenge, which is a high speed roller coaster to give you the feel of a tournament. Flight of the Hippogriff will be a family coaster which simulates a hippogriff training flight which will take you above the castle.
You can watch the video on Universal's website that shows the maps of the theme park, the inside of one of the rooms, and see Tom Felton who plays Draco in the Harry Potter movies reaction to the park.
More details will be released in the coming months as they are working on The Wizardy World of Harry Potter daily. For Harry Potter fans we can't wait until the theme park opens. It is gonna be quite a wizarding experience.
