For Christmas, my mother signed myself and my boyfriend up for the Couples' Cooking class that is going to be held on January 14, 2011 at The Wooden Spoon, located at 5047 North Clark Street in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. I'm so excited, because the class is going teach us how to cook on an indoor grill, which is a technique that neither myself nor my boyfriend are familiar with. Other upcoming classes include Classic Cooking, Simply Sushi, Cooking with Julia and Classic Cooking.

Some of the dishes that we will be learning to make on an indoor grill include grilled asparagus, orecchiette with cheese sauce and pancetta, chocolate caramel tart, Jack Daniels grilled flank steak and grilled red peppers and caesa salad. I know my mother didn't want us to know how much she paid for the class, but when I checked out their website, I found out that the cost is $130 per couple, and that Chef Alekka Sweeney will be teaching the class.

If you want to find out more about upcoming classes at The Wooden Spoon, call 773-293-3190, or check out their website.
