So okay
Forget what I said yesterday
I see things differently today
Let's focus on the reconnect
Let's tip toe around the elephant
I slipped and tripped and took a side step
Forgive my hiccup
Promise me an infinite about of f#ck ups
I'll grant you the same
Once in a while consider that
I am prone to go temporarily insane
It's probably chemical and maybe a little mental
But today I'm changed
So remember what I'm saying today
And forget about the words
you heard
yesterday

Very well thought out and detailed poem, you have the best talent when it comes to writing poems and getting your point across Robin!
Inspiring to remember that every day is a new chance to make things better :)
Guess it depends on what was said yesterday and how many times these outbursts occur. Sometimes you get tired of "I'm sorry". As the saying goes, "Love means you never have to say you're sorry."
Tell it like it is.
That's where forgiveness steps in. You see, sometimes you really mean what you say and sometimes what you say is simply mean. If the words spoken are hurtful, the listener may want nothing more than to forget as much as the speaker. Even if you meant no harm, at times words still strike a blow. So isn't it just wonderful after having a change of heart that it's okay to change your mind? When what you've said yesterday can just be left behind? Who says you can't have a do over? Not my lover... but then again, he's like no other.-- Thanks for your comments!
Okay, so does this mean I have to IGNORE everything you just said in this poem? (LOL) Yeah, I know. I'm a smart-ass. (LOL) Good work, "Greensie"! Thanks for the kind words of support regarding my acquisition by Felony Magazine. Much love, "The G-Man"
Ahhh...but can we ever take those words back? I feel as you do, but someone once said we can never take back what was said....your poem makes me ponder!!!
Good job! Your poem tells it like it tis!
I need to read this out loud to my husband. Thanks.
