Things You'll Need:
-Acceptance to diversity profiling
-Acceptance to diversity control
-Acceptance to diversity discrimination
Should we label everyone who needs to be labeled?
Why not come to grips with the fact that all of us have some kind of personality glitches or otherwise dysfunctional characteristics which make us all just a little different? Not that being different is bad, rather it is human; it is normal. So, let's label everyone according to their individual weirdness or dysfunctional quirks, shall we? Those who are "perfect" in every way will not need to be labeled. Though I'm not sure who will be the ones to make such determinations. Oh, well!
Planned housing:
We could design and set up villages for housing like-minded people; people who share ideals and even dysfunctional quirks. That way, they should get along with each other, at least. Then, we can have monitors in the villages who can keep tabs on everyone and send out alerts when certain priority-labeled individuals move about; so others are aware to be vigilant.
Affix the labels!
We can have signs posted on everybody's homes, apartments, cars, their clothing; and, hey, why not even their person? With their appropriate labels, anyone who happens to meet up with or otherwise come into close proximity or contact with labeled individuals will know just what kind of persons they are dealing with right away.
Monitoring:
We can have those who have proven they are the "most perfect" become law enforcement; and they can patrol, monitor and control behaviors, to ensure everyone is staying within their expectations.
Reality:
OK, maybe this is a little far-fetched, but, it does seem to be becoming more real all the time. We are already segregating out certain segments of our society, like homeless people, smokers, drinkers, social, sexual and other deviants, drug users, handicapped people, certain ethnic, religious and racial groups, and numerous others. It seems like it will just be a matter of time before we will want to include some of the other types of people in this (highly-discriminatory?) profiling practice, if we are not very careful. Let's examine who should be labeled:
-How about people with bad driving habits; speeders, reckless, etc.?
-How about people with anger management issues?
-How about people who are known liars, thieves, corrupted, deceitful, dishonest, or cheaters?
-How about all other people who are not ready, willing, or able to keep up with demands for social perfection?
-How about people who are alcohol, tobacco and firearm users?
-How about people who are into viewing pornography?
-How about people who have divorced or otherwise broken up their family and home; leaving broken-hearted, scarred children to deal with something they cannot understand?
-How about people who practice other, similarly disagreeable behaviors and characteristics?
The real paradox:
I think it is quite critical that we all remember to look in the mirror once in a while; to be sure we are seeing ourselves clearly; before we begin to label others. We are all very diverse; in many more ways than we realize. After all, true diversity begins at conception; no two people can be completely alike. That's just the way it is! Obviously, this article is intended to be a little sarcastic and satirical; hopefully it is taken as such! But, if we really think about it, and look at how we are operating in certain arenas even now; I think we can say we are heading down a path that could lead to something along these lines. Let's all be 'vigilant' so we can keep our privacy and our freedoms!
