The World Still Spins

Dawn Krakowski
Kids play and don't really think about growing up

They let their imagination run wild, and their legs take them everywhere

Their biggest responsibilities are doing their homework and cleaning their room

Kids don't plan anything, they just follow along

In high school, we have different things in mind

We want to drive, date, have money, we want it all

High schoolers think constantly about growing up and leaving home

They fight for what they want and try to plan everything

When we start getting older, it's never the same, but it's never different

We have jobs, bills, kids of our own, and just enough to get by

We learn that some things are planned, some are unexpected, and everything else comes in-between

We fight for the things we don't want, and follow the things we do

Our views and environments may change, but one thing stays the same

No matter what we do, where we go, or how we live, the world still spins
